ABOUT THE ROLE

A great opportunity for a talented CAD Specialist / Documenter, available for full-time, part-time, and contract based, to join the BrandWorks family in our multi-national office has arisen. 

In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, liaise with suppliers, and assist the lead designers in documentation. 

This role is for you if:

• You have a great technical knowledge of interior design, from bespoke joinery detailing to managing entire tender packages and architectural details. You have a competent handle on interior detailing particularly with hospitality and even back-of-house detailing and are experienced with council, health and regulatory requirements. 

• You also have a good understanding and awareness of the Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards

• You can create precise and comprehensive CAD drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, and other technical documents using AutoCAD and other industry-standard software. You also need to ensure accuracy and adherence to design specifications, building codes, and regulations in all documentation.

•  You are able to take initiative in offering ways in which the team can improve on their CAD flow and templates to tighten up documentation processes and timescales. 

• You will be responsible for running your own projects, including but not limited to production of AutoCAD documentation, preparation of the drawing list for all assigned areas of the project, development of approved designs into full construction drawings, coordinate with the in-house design team, and technical staff of other consultant team members, and coordinate with outsource production teams, ensuring their deliverables are complete and meet the Company’s standards.

• You will also be responsible for maintaining and updating the office finishes library and will assist with all things FFE scheduling. Whether it is creating finishes boards, ordering samples or researching new innovations. We will look to you when it comes to all things tactile.

REQUIREMENTS

• Tertiary qualifications in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture are essential

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Experience in hospitality, specialising in restaurants and F & B establishments is a must. 

• An expert in AutoCAD, proficient in Adobe Suite and Google Sketchup. 3D rendering in either Twin Motion or V-Ray is advantageous but not a must.

• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and high-quality technical drawings.

• You demonstrate a portfolio showcasing experience working as a documenter / CAD specialist, preferably within the hospitality sector. 

• You have knowledge and experience with FFE design and particularly finishes for hospitality fit-outs 

• You have excellent communication skills and must be fluent in English, you know the right questions to ask, and you have incredible attention to detail and great planning skills. 

• You are willing to work efficiently and also take the time to collaborate and pass on their knowledge.
